As 2022 was the first full year of event delivery post-pandemic in many countries, IAPCO members have reported an extremely productive year for. Our annual reporting figures, based on data collected from all IAPCO members around the globe show an increase in economic impact from pre-pandemic results of €12.8 billion in 2019 to €13.47 billion in 2022. Similarly, industry sponsorship and exhibition support for business and scientific events increase from €300 million in 2021 to €442 million in 2022. Although talent numbers are still below ideal levels for the global demand, IAPCO members employed an additional 1,839 new hires through 2022. These results are just a snapshot of the performance we have experienced through 2022. When assessed, together with all other indicators, the impact that IAPCO members continue to bring to both our industry and cities within which their events are delivered is extremely positive and attractive and proof of the value of business events around the globe.

In a significant milestone in the 50th anniversary year of Australasian event management company Arinex, around 55 team members will gather in Cairns next week for their first face-to-face conference. The Arinex Conference will be held at the Cairns Convention Centre from Monday (27 Mar). This carbon-neutral event will feature three days of presentations and workshops, followed by eco-certified tours of the World Heritage-listed tropical rainforests and iconic Great Barrier Reef.

The scientific conference of the Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis Research (Gesellschaft für Thrombose- und Hämostaseforschung e.V., GTH), was held at the locations of Messe Frankfurt in February 2023. With the 67th Annual Meeting of the GTH, Frankfurt was once again the venue for the event after 25 years. Around 1,500 participants, mainly from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, came to the Rhine-Main metropolis.

CPO HANSER SERVICE was the organizer of this year´s DGKN 2023 congress (DGKN German Society for Clinical Neurophysiology and Functional Neuroimaging) at the University Medical Center Eppendorf (short: UKE) in Hamburg with 1,100 participants from 23 countries. Five session halls and numerous smaller rooms for workshops were used.   

AIM Group International opens a new office in Porto, Portugal, which will be managed by Nélia Fonte as Business Manager. The goal of the 15th office of the Group is to expand the area of activity to the North of Portugal, due to the relevance and growth of Porto as a destination for events as well as an important scientific and technological hub. AIM Group Portugal, one of the most dynamic offices of the international network with a rich portfolio of events for both medical-scientific and corporate clients, will strengthen the operations in the Iberian area.
