The second edition of AGEVITY 2024, promoted by Assolombarda and the Silver Economy Network, concluded with resounding success, doubling the participation of its first edition. Held at Bocconi University in Milan, the event brought together 200 national and international speakers from the institutional, academic, associative and entrepreneurial sectors, and attracted over 1,000 participants.
The two-day event featured eight thematic sessions, fifteen workshops and a plenary conference focused on health, generational transition and innovation. Key highlights included the launch of the Longevity Square initiative, promoting free health screenings and an active lifestyle and the presentation of the ‘Longevity Outlook 2024 Report’, the second edition of an in-depth report about longevity and its impact on society and economy.
AIM Group, a partner of the initiative since its inception, played a crucial role in organising the event. AGEVITY’s success reflects its growing importance as a platform for addressing the future of the longevity economy, promoting collaboration between businesses, institutions and research bodies. The forum received extensive media coverage with over 170 articles, and it will be featured at Expo 2025 in Osaka.
Historic success for the 18th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering in Milan
The 18th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering (WCEE), held in Milan at the Allianz MiCo Convention Centre, concluded with historic success. Organised by the International Association of Earthquake Engineering (IAEE) in collaboration with the Italian National Association of Earthquake Engineering (ANIDIS), the event welcomed over 4,250 delegates from eighty-two countries, setting a new standard for participation and format.
A key highlight was the highly interactive technical programme, with over 160 educational sessions moderated by 340 convenors, during which nearly 4,000 papers were presented. Another innovative feature was the ‘Monitor Presentation’, where thirty monitors were used for live paper presentations, facilitating direct interaction between authors and attendees in more than 160 sessions across five days. The interactive experience also included the ‘Seismulator’, a shaking platform that let participants feel the vibrations of an earthquake and compare them to those felt in earthquake-resistant structures.
In addition to the scientific content, the event featured a large exhibition with over 110 industry exhibitors, memorable social events such as an exclusive evening at La Scala, and strong sustainability efforts through recycled materials and surplus food donations. Returning to Italy after fifty years, the conference set a new benchmark for innovation, interaction and inclusivity.
Out of the Blue Project by AIM Communication Triumphs at Conventa Awards
AIM Communication’s Out of the Blue project won big at the Conventa Best Event Awards, securing three prizes:

At the heart of the project, created for the LICE Foundation and the Italian League Against Epilepsy (LICE), was the short film Out of the Blue (Fuori dall’Acqua), which shared personal stories of individuals living with epilepsy, aiming to reshape public perception of the condition. The campaign launched on International Epilepsy Day 2023 and garnered widespread attention.
The film’s trailer debuted at the LICE National Congress, with its official release at the Giffoni Film Festival 2023, and later featured at the Venice International Film Festival 2023, sparking lively discussions. Additionally, in partnership with ANEC, cinema screenings were held across Italy, involving over 1,200 students from twenty high schools, promoting thoughtful conversations.
With over 480 media articles published and reaching 96 million people, Out of the Blue achieved remarkable impact in raising awareness and challenging misconceptions about epilepsy.
