To support PCOs arround the globe during the Coronavirus Pandemic from 2020-2022, IAPCO united 14 National PCO Associations for the first time in its 52-year history.  The strategy and focus was to facilitate connections across the globe of PCOs, whether IAPCO members or not, to connect and share Coronavirus-related data and case studies of successful advocacy initiatives. Since its inception, the IAPCO launched the Global Manifesto for PCOs, aligned to the JMIC Global Manifesto, conducted a global on-line summit for Tourism Ministers and provided multiple examples of safe and successful events being delivered.

The IAPCO Task Force will leverage IAPCO’s leadership on the international stage whilst also enabling the dissemination of the important work being done at national levels by the Task Force Members.

The JMIC Global Manifesto
An global meetings industry rationale for the use of Business Events as Primary Agents for post-Pandemic economic recovery and renewal.  As a member of JMIC, it was important for IAPCO to share such an essential manifesto across our community to arm them with the rationale and statistics to advocate locally.

The IPCO Strategic Global Task Force of National PCOs Manifesto
IAPCO – The PCO Perspective – Advocacy Guide in conjunction with the JMIC Global Manifesto was designed exclusively by IAPCO to align the PCO “Voice” with the global manifesto.

“Through any challenging times, it is more important than ever that organisations with similar missions come together to promote a coordinated, multi-national model for the greater good. PCOs are at the sharp end of helping economies grow and thrive through the successful and efficient delivery of business and professional events.

It is vital that government policymakers and PCOs work together to develop talent, grow economic impact and make lasting and positive societal impact.”
