In its 4th Edition, Expand organizes the “International Women Summit” on Mar. 15th 2023.
Let’s start with the claim that the more women a company has, the better its performance. In a modern age, corporations are now understanding the role of women in the workforce and how they can effectively contribute to the success of the organization. With increased awareness of women’s empowerment, equality, and gender-based issues, a greater number of women are entering the workforce and rising to positions of leadership.
As March is the month of women, Expand (a member of ICOM group), organized the “International Women Summit” in its 4th edition to celebrate women’s equity and discuss empowering women in technology and digital transformation through leadership development to achieve professional mentoring growth, develop communication capabilities, and exchange experiences.
“In the current era, companies understand the role of women in the labor force, its importance, and how they can effectively boost the success of any business while raising awareness of women’s empowerment and equality. Women have proven their ability to play a productive and effective role in the business sector, as well as their right to advance to strategic positions. This is why we are here today, highlighting their ultimate success”, quoted Dr. Ahmed El Chal, ICOM Group Chairman.
The summit prioritized integrating digital transformation into businesses and developed a program aiming at exchanging ideas on how to ensure that we work towards a fair digital transition, leaving no one behind, by generating insightful discussions featured by the top business leaders and offering networking opportunities to share experiences and leverage the knowledge of the attendees with thought-provoking sessions to ensure the best experience possible.
Expand was keen to witness the wide participation of a large number of speakers, officials, decision-makers, and senior executive leaders of companies and institutions that are investing in women leaders in their businesses.
More than 44 prominent Women Leaders participated in the summit this year, representing many professional sectors such as the financial and economic sectors, as well as sports, art, culture, education, media, entrepreneurs, and other professional specializations in which women distinguished themselves, led by a representative from the United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF, Advisor to the Governor of the Central Bank for Social Responsibility and Chair of the Sustainable Development Committee at the Federation of Egyptian Bank, and many other eminent guests from well-known corporates and banks such as, Mars, Beyti, Dell, Jumia, AstraZeneca, Amgen Middle East & Africa, Vodafone Egypt, Credit Agricole…etc.
“The program was condensed with +18 sessions and workshops and it was wonderful having such remarkable keynote and panel speakers at the International Women Summit. The topics discussed and the success stories disclosed during the event were so much relatable to the audience and their core messages were timely with the challenges that Women Leaders are facing today in our fast-paced, pressure-filled, and instant gratification-driven society”, said Ms Marwa Cherine – Senior Operation Executive
During the summit, Dr Ahmed awarded the most influential female figures, in recognition of their efforts in serving the community, and as an affirmation that they are a role model in practical life.
“When women take the lead, humanity thrives and progresses, and we are reassured about the future of this generation. The current challenges and risks that we are facing in our communities and in business, in particular, are too big, which is why there is no room for hesitant people. We have to make sure that our community preserves equity and maintains a diverse and inclusive culture.”, said Eng. Walid Menessi, Chief Operating Officer of ICOM Group.
The summit coincides with ICOM Group Silver Jubilee celebration, during which we owe a message of appreciation and acknowledgement to each and every one of our stakeholders, community members, and professionals especially the Women Leaders in our company. Since we first started in 1998, we had a larger vision of having a diverse workforce because we think that a diverse workplace leads to happier and healthier employees, more respected clients, and managers who have easier access to the talent and skills needed for their organizations to thrive. The importance of diversity must be prioritized if you want your business to be successful.
“The International Women Summit has been a great success, growing bigger and more well-known each year and generating the hype that was anticipated especially since we hosted this edition with +300 attendees. On a side note, the IWS is one of many community-focused projects that Expand undertakes, as we have several projects addressing kids, athletes, public awareness, etc.”, said Mrs Rana Gamil – Expand Operation Director
